Professional Bio

Jennifer Pemberton is the Vice President for News and Managing Editor at KTOO, the public media station in Juneau, Alaska. Her radio stories have aired on NPR's All Things Considered, Here & Now and numerous local public radio stations across the country. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama. Her essays and poems have appeared in Orion, High Country News, The Utne Reader, Grist and others.

The organization was formerly known as Public Radio News Directors Inc., and began as an association representing those responsible for the day-to-day direction, reporting and editing of local public media newsrooms. In 2019, the organization changed its name in an effort to be more encompassing of all journalists in the public media sphere.
