Professional Bio

Madison Holcomb is a sophomore journalism student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a producer and reporter at Illinois Student Newsroom, a practicum at Illinois Public Media WILL-AM FM TV. She is also the News Director at her college's radio station, WPGU 107.1. Previously, she worked as an intern at the Coal City Courant and a news writer at the Daily Illini. Madison recently received seventh place in the Hearst Audio News/Features Competition.

The organization was formerly known as Public Radio News Directors Inc., and began as an association representing those responsible for the day-to-day direction, reporting and editing of local public media newsrooms. In 2019, the organization changed its name in an effort to be more encompassing of all journalists in the public media sphere.
