Professional Bio
Sam Guzik is a journalist, futurist and product strategist. He is the Director of Product for New York Public Radio and a Senior Expert Advisor at the Future Today Institute.
At New York Public Radio, Sam leads the team responsible for designing and developing the organization’s digital consumer experiences. He has direct oversight of the news portfolio, with an emphasis on growing the audience for NYPR’s local news brands and building sustainable revenue streams.
Before joining WNYC, he worked at Hearst Newspapers as a product director leading two lines of business: subscription products and newsroom tools. Before that, he served as editor for strategy and platforms in Newsday’s opinion department. In that role, he was a member of the editorial board, responsible for translating the board’s voice to digital platforms. He was a leader in planning and securing $1.5 million of grant funding for nextLI, a project dedicated to creating a community to discuss Long Island’s future.
He holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and is a graduate of Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism and Washington University in St. Louis.
