Capital Public Radio is hiring for a number of news-related positions. Full listings on all of these positions is available at http://www.capradio.org/careers.
Politics Reporter: The position requires a nimble journalist who is adept at cultivating sources and identifying what matters in a quick-moving political environment. Good news judgment and instincts for what makes a “public radio story” — including how CapRadio can distinguish its political reporting from other California outlets — is essential.
Senior Editor, News: We are looking for an experienced journalist with clear-headed news judgment and several years of editorial experience. Instincts for what distinguishes a “public radio story” are essential.
News Reporter: The reporter’s main duty will be covering the day’s most important stories around the region. On a “slow news day,” the News Reporter will be expected to deliver “enterprise” stories that are relevant to the community and our audience. This includes long-form feature reporting as assigned.
Senior Producer, Insight: Capital Public Radio in Sacramento is looking for a Senior Producer for Insight with Beth Ruyak. Insight is our flagship local show on the radio and it’s our most popular podcast. We think of Insight as the town square for our region. When there’s a big story, Insight is where newsmakers want to appear. Big issues, tough topics, arts and culture are all part of the vibrant mix on Insight every day.
