You will be the afternoon voice in Central Pa. on our presentation of All Things Considered while taking a multimedia approach to sustaining connected, contextualized reporting on policies and trends impacting communities in our region. Plus, you will have the opportunity to cover the 2020 election in a key battleground state.

Position Summary

  This position focuses on, but is not limited to, production of daily news and public affairs programs. These programs include interviews and analysis on many subjects (news, culture, etc.) in North Carolina. They are some of the most visible extensions of WUNC-FM’s public service to more than 400,000 listeners each week.

The News Reporter and Team Leader is primarily responsible for producing in-depth radio news features and multi-media/multi-platform journalism for KVNO. The Reporter prepares cogent news stories for broadcast on KVNO as well as regional and national broadcast for radio outlets and all related KVNO websites. They will anchor several newscasts each weekday, including 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and others to be determined. The Reporter supervises part-time correspondents and student interns, helping them develop and hone their reporting and presentation skills.
