Professional Bio
Michael Wells is the Senior Librarian at the Kansas City Public Library’s Missouri Valley Special Collections, where he connects patrons with regional history resources. He manages the library's local history reference collection, oversees reference services, and leads digitization initiatives. Through KCHistory.org, the department provides public access to over 20,000 photographs, maps, postcards, and more that help tell the story of Kansas City’s past. Michael also directs What’s Your KCQ?, a collaborative project with The Kansas City Star that regularly features local history articles in both digital and print formats.
