Eligibility
Five years or less of total paid journalism experience (prior to the nomination deadline). Age is not a determining factor; passion and early-career achievements are key.
Minimum of one year working at a PMJA member station
Demonstrated journalistic excellence in any format (reporting, production, editing, multimedia, engagement)
Innovative and impactful storytelling that engages local communities
Commitment to core values of public media: serving the public interest, fostering trust, and promoting diverse voices
Selection Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
Quality of Work
Strength of reporting, writing, editing, or production skills
Impact
Evidence of the nominee's work making a difference in their community
Innovation
Use of creative storytelling techniques and platforms
Commitment to Public Media
Exemplary adherence to its core values
Strength of Nomination
