Denise Watson

Denise Watson started as a team editor at WHRO Public Media in Virginia in January 2025 and has been an award-winning journalist for more than 30 years. She's worked as an editor and reporter for The Virginian-Pilot/Daily Press in Norfolk, VA and as a reporter at the Tampa Bay Times in Florida; the Virginia Press Association named her the Outstanding Journalist of the Year in 2020 and her work has been recognized by the Society for Features Journalism and Virginia Trial Lawyers Association for Excellence in Journalism.
