Professional Bio
Tom joined KMUW in 2017 after spending 37 years with The Wichita Eagle, where he held a variety of reporting and editing roles. He retired at the end of 2025.
Tom is a former board member of the Public Media Journalists Association, serving as small station representative. He is continuing his role as an adjunct instructor in the Elliott School of Communication at Wichita State University.
While at KMUW, he helped start the KMUW News Lab, the station’s internship program with WSU, and the Korva Coleman Internship for student journalists of color.
