Meeting in Texas - A Statement from PMJA

PMJA is excited to be partnering with Texas Public Radio for #PMJA2023 San Antonio. The decision to hold our conference in San Antonio was a response to a comprehensive proposal from Texas Public Radio – and PMJA couldn’t be happier with the partnership.

PMJA understands that some of our attendees may be hesitant to travel to Texas due to the current political climate. We believe it’s important to come together and share ideas, and we believe Texas Public Radio is an excellent venue to accomplish all of our conference goals.

With a Human Rights Campaign Municipal Equity Index score of 100 (the highest possible score), San Antonio is a city that is known for its diversity and its commitment to inclusion. We are confident that our conference will be a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees. We have taken steps to ensure that our conference is inclusive, including:

  • Providing a diversity of speakers and panelists
  • Creating a safe space for all attendees to share their ideas
  • Offering a variety of networking opportunities

PMJA is committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that a strong public media is essential to a healthy democracy, and we are committed to creating a space where all voices can be heard and our profession can explore ideas and tools to help it thrive.

Our goal is to make our conference a powerful force for good in the world. We hope that you will join us in San Antonio to share your ideas and make a difference.
