You know how to edit tape, how to interview, maybe even how to file a FOIA request. But do you know how to negotiate your own compensation? For many public media journalists, that answer is a resounding NO. In this session, we will hear from Lavie Margolin about how you can hone those skills. He will cover such topics as: When in the hiring process should you negotiate salary? How do you know if a job is a good fit? When and how should you ask for a raise? You didn’t get into this business for the money, but that doesn’t mean you should be fairly compensated for your work!
