Claire Powell

My passion for journalism lies in my passion for community. With a focus in audio storytelling, my goal in my reporting is to provide localized stories that highlight the direct impact it has on the public. As a journalist, I believe that my purpose is to serve the communities in my area and cover stories they want and need to hear about.

Currently, I am a student reporter for mid-Missouri’s NPR-affiliate station KBIA 91.3 and a senior at the Missouri School of Journalism. Previously, I interned at Kansas City’s NPR-affiliate station KCUR 89.3’s daily news talk show “Up To Date.”
