We're Coming to You
PMJA Regional Roadshows—2 in 2026, 2 in 2027
What if you didn't have to travel far to connect with peers, learn essential skills, and tackle the challenges facing public media today?
That's the idea behind our Regional Roadshows—four one-day gatherings across the country in 2026 and 2027, each focused on the issues that matter most to you and your newsroom.
The Experience
Each roadshow brings together 100-150 public media journalists for a full day of learning, connection, and problem-solving. Each event will be different, designed around its own theme. Programming may include:
- Keynotes and panels featuring practitioners who've navigated the challenges you're facing
- Interactive workshops where you'll work through real problems and leave with actionable solutions
- Peer exchange sessions designed for cross-role collaboration and shared learning
- Networking opportunities to build connections with journalists in your region
- Optional evening gatherings for deeper conversations over dinner
What Makes This Different
Everyone at each location experiences the same content together—no choosing between tracks. This cross-role approach means reporters learn alongside producers, managers connect with emerging journalists, and different perspectives enrich every conversation. You'll walk away with strategies and tools you can implement immediately at your station.
Regional Approach
We're planning four events across the country in 2026 and 2027 to make participation more accessible for journalists nationwide.
Each roadshow will partner with a local station to spotlight work happening in that region and add local flavor to the gathering. Specific cities and dates will be announced as partnerships are confirmed.
Lower Travel Barrier
By bringing PMJA to different parts of the country, we're making it easier and more affordable for you to participate. Many attendees will be able to drive or take a short flight, reducing both costs and time away from your station.
